I have been looking for a large sized cutting board that enables me to chop a bunch of vegetables, but also was looking for one that was not wood or plastic and therefore, more sanitary when cutting meat, etc. This cutting board is both large and impermeable, so it met two of my goals. Unfortunately, it is not very functional, and as other reviewers have noted it is very LOUD when cutting on it. I didn't think that would bother me, but it does a lot because I do a lot of food prep when others in the house are sleeping. The thing that bothers me the most about this item, however is that it is not designed for chopping or slicing vegetables. Because the surface is not smooth (it is textured, much like the glass shower doors of old), the knife cannot connect with the cutting surface efficiently and therefore, you end up doing more sawing back and forth than just chopping. It helps if your knives are sharpened, but even the sharpest knives still struggle to get a nice clean slice the first time. I have now resorted to using it more for a trivet or when I am simply cutting up raw meat since it involves less chopping.

This cutting board is a great addition to any kitchen. It has no color so it does not take away from the decor in your kitchen. Very study and easy to clean.

I inherited my mom's boards when she passed away. She had had them for a long time and they needed to be replaced. Hers were frosted glass, but not tempered, I believe. I like this board primarily because it's tempered, but I would have preferred frosted in retrospect. My kitchen counters need replacement, and the frosted ones hid the imperfections on my counters much better. I like this one, though, and it is the right size for what I needed. If I had it to do again, though, I would purchase a frosted one.
